Further progress on extra pages

I have completed extra pages for the booklet. I still have a few more photos to add but this will be done in my own time, so that I am able to create it and place it into a real CD case.

Evaluation Notes

In today's lesson, we started to go through the evaluation, looking at question 1 and picking out stuff that we would have to identify to analysis. Here are some of the notes I have taken down.

Question 1-

·         Use Theory

·         Link back to case studies (why you used the feature you used and what brought you to use the example of features

·         Make sure you use bullet points/notes (Use Powerpoint for example, doing a page of each of the analysis, a page for camera, editing, mise-en-scene (Location connoting a mood or an emotion). Look at the main technical features, not every single feature.

3 Elements to question 1-

·         1- Textual Analysis of your music video and your two print products. (Bring in conventions, camera, editing, mise-en-scene, connotations of all of the examples. Bring in connotations of props, connotations of the use of colour (showing separation of the word ‘Exchange’ for example)

·         2- Comparisons/Contextualise against case studies/real media products. (Conventions which were followed or the same as real media items and look at subverted media items that are different from real ones.

·         3- Apply media theory to our products.

Extra Pages for the Inside Booklet

These images are just little starters of what I want in my booklet. I thought that just having a poster for the inside wouldn't be as great, so I have decided to add a few more parts to it. They each have the track name and it will include information such as writers, producers, co-producers etc. Then for each song, I will look to add a stand out quote underneath, one that may particularly stand out for the audience to know. I am completing this in my spare time and hope to finish this by the ending of the week, however, if it doesn't go to plan, I will leave this and just have the poster in the booklet.

Creating the Spine and CD Disk

I have started with my CD Design, receiving help from peers, asking if they preferred the CD to be black and white, complementing my colour scheme or to have it in colour. I have looked at my different options but the black and white options seems to be the most sensible choice.

Poster Progress

The Poster: I believe that the poster is nearly complete. I have been working on my own logo for 'Tyrell Productions' in my spare time, so I can add this to my back cover as well as the poster. My teacher spoke to me about the position of where the preview of the album cover is placed. However, as I started to place my preview image in other places, it made the main image to crammed. I will look to downsize the preview image of the front cover, as this may be the only best resolution. I want to keep it on the poster but placing it somewhere else on the poster doesn't seem to work as well as it could or should.

Back Cover Progress

The Back Cover: I have looked at doing the back cover in either a normal colour (the original image) or the black and white version, to try and keep tight with my colour scheme. Although most of my covers (front, inside and poster) have a black background, I was looking to break the conventions of sticking to the same background. I am going for something adventurous but if it doesn't work, I have alternative photos to choose from. I will get opinions from teachers and fellow peers during the week.

Inside Cover/Booklet Progress

The Poster that will be inside the booklet: I am still trying to find ways to layout the inside of the booklet that will be on the left hand side of the digipack. I have filled up the space now (the picture isn't on here as yet) but the pictures still feel a bit crowded, so I am looking to ask my peers about how it looks and what can be improved but I will also speak to my teacher and the technicians to get their opinion on what I am trying to achieve.

The Inside Cover: The inside cover will contain a quote on the top right hand side with a special thanks note on the same side at the bottom. I still feel that I need to position my text a bit better and maybe minimize my font size slightly. This is one of the only images that give the audience direct address and the quote from the song adds emphasises.

Front Cover Progress

So far, this is where I am at with my front cover. I feel that it is nearly complete but I am looking at ways to improve the front cover more. I am looking at case studies online to see if there's anything that catches my eye, that I can implement into my CD front cover.

Third Photoshoot

For the back cover, I decided to do a further photoshoot as my collection of photos didn't match a set criteria of what I would like for my back cover. There are more photos but these are just a few that stand out for me. I played around with the shutter speed and aperture of the camera and also changed the position of how the photos were taken.

Second Photoshoot

Making amendments to my teacher's comment about my front cover image, I decided it was best to do another photoshoot to acclaim more images to choose from. These images have lots of meaning and when being edited, the meaning shows more. The inferences and meaning can be made mainly through lights.

Here are some of the photos taken.
